Jordan discovered the unlocked cabinet with all the plastic containers. He enjoyed pulling them out and dumping then on the kitchen floor. He is so busy and quick now that he can crawl and walk around things. Go J go!

I there life outside of grading?!

So school is in full swing and so is our busy lives. Mark is coaching again and I have the biggest classes that I have ever had so far. I figure I have around 115 students. And many of you may think, that is not bad but for a small school it is a bit crazy. 50 of those students are in Geometry (2 sections only). So needless to say that blogging has been pushed to the back burner in light of a tremendous amount of schoolwork and an absence of Mark to help much with Jordan! He is wonderful when he is home though! So some quick pics. We attended the KSU v UCLA game last weekend and it was great. Jordan pretty much slept through the entire ordeal. I'm guessing someday he'll be more excited about it! At is 6 month check up he was 19 lb 9 oz and 27 inches tall. Our growing boy!

5 months old

So Jordan was five months on the first. To celebrate, we cut his hair! I didn't want to but after everyone told me I should or give him earrings, I figured it was time! Mark took pictures to memorialize the moment in case I cut off the curls. Well, for all of us that love the curl, it is as curly and red as ever!

Birthday Fun

So for my birthday, we had Sandy, Andy, Maria, Chris, and Liz over for breakfast. Sandy and Andy brought birthday decor. I should say the decor was to wear. It was very festive. We are saving it all for Sandy's birthday. Jordan was thrilled to be wearing his decorations!
Sandy also discovered that Jordan had armpits. She thought they were so adorable and had to have a picture. She loves to play with Jordan by throwing his hands in the air so I'm curious they weren't discovered before.

Mammoth Cave National Park

On our way to Nashville, we stopped at Mammoth Cave National Park and went on a short tour. Actually it was the tour for old people or people with young children. We figured we qualified not knowing how Jordan would handle a cave and also not having much time. We toured the frozen Niagra. It was a rock formation that looked like a waterfall. We were very impressed with the park. There are over 400 miles of caves there and it is the longest cave in the world. It was a great mid-drive stop to get Jordan out of the carseat!
There were a couple places where you had to duck and try not to touch the cave. Easier said than done.

Home Sweet Home

Well we are finally home from our long vacation. We have been to West Virginia and then on to Nashville for National FBLA and then on home. After 2 weeks of being gone, we are all ready to be home. We did enjoy the time with the family in WV. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed meeting Jordan. Jordan did get to try cereal for the first time as well and he did really well and seemed to enjoy it! He traveled very well and there will be more pictures to follow.

Just too darn cute!

So we found these overalls in the closet and they were sized 3-6 months. Jordan is already in 6 month clothes and we wanted him to wear them at least once. So we tried them on him just for the fun of it! He was just so adorable we couldn't resist taking pictures of him. Later he decided that tug of war was a fun game. He was fussing on him mat so Mark tried to pick him up but he wanted to take the octopus with him and wouldn't let go. Very adorable.

Relaxation

We are enjoying our few days at home of relaxation before we start traveling again. We are headed to Atwood for a week soon and then on to West Virginia the first of July. It is shaping up to be a very busy summer. Here are some pictures from the time in Hesston. I thought these were adorable.

Family Fun!

So this week we had Steve Lacy and Mary at our house. Mary showed us everything we needed to change before Jordan is walking. Then on Saturday, we went to Hesston to see the family there. Sunday brought about a big barbecue at the farm and then a camp-out that night. Jordan and Shawna were chased off a blanket by a LARGE spider. Needless to say, Jordan and Shawna went back to Hesston to sleep. Not only because of bugs, but also and 3 month old camping, not so fun. Mark stayed out with the boys and got caught in a fun storm. They ended us sleeping in the house. We did get a generational picture of Mark, Jordan, Mark's dad Mike, and Mark's Grandma Genrose. We are definitely enjoying our summer so far and Jordan has acclimated well to the new environment.

3 months already!

Sorry for the blogging absence. With the end of school things were extremely busy. Mark finished up his baseball season with a loss to Rossville and Shawna even went back in to school to work. Jordan enjoyed time with Uncle Andy and then with Grandma and Grandpa Dillon. Jordan is growing so fast. I have already retired so many outfits. He is in the 6 month clothes already and we are buying things for him to grow into. I can't believe how fast he is growing! He is enjoying having mom and dad home all day now and is smiling more and more. He is even trying to laugh. It is so cute because he doesn't really have it figured out so it sounds so funny! He is also talking more and more and loves to look in the mirror. He can also grip things very well now. He isn't really reaching for things yet, but it is only a matter of time.

2 month update

It's hard to believe that Jordan is already 2 months old! How time flies when you are having fun (or not sleeping). He is doing well. He is sleeping between 5-6 hours at a time at night. He weighs 13 pounds (75th percentile) and is 23 inches long (52nd percentile). Dr. Hinkin says he is at about a 4 month developmental status. We were happy with that. He did get his first round of shots. Three shots and one oral medicine. He didn't mind the oral part but he did not like the needles. Needless to say, he did not sleep well last night after that checkup. We did give him a nice bath before bedtime and got some really cute pics of his crazy curly hair! But our little boy is healthy and growing well!

Everyday Life

Jordan has been so much fun. He is discovering his fingers and loves to "eat" them he also discovered the mirror on his play gym. We have also realized he love to lay on his changing table. We don't know why. Maybe he thinks he will get to be only in a diaper or something. He grins really big when we change his clothes. More so when he has nothing on. Typical boy! We are looking forward to the weekend. School is almost out for Mark and he is in the middle of the baseball season. Jordan is finally sleeping in his crib every night. He does like to sleep sideways in it. It makes it more cozy and like his cradle. He has pretty much out grown the cradle his grandpa made him! He is also talking more and more and every now and then tucks up his legs and rolls to his side. It is so cute to watch!

Thursday, April 22, 2010

This has been a busy week. We started it with Jordan's baptism on Saturday with all the family here. Then we celebrated Mark's birthday on Sunday with my family and then again on Monday with just us. Mark had a baseball game on Tuesday and Shawna spent Tuesday afternoon in Horton with her family since her grandpa had surgery. Jordan was a hit among the family. Then Jordan and Shawna went to the baseball game in Westmoreland where Jordan was once again a hit. Then today it rained all day and so Mark had a short practice and watched Jordan while Shawna went in to school. Jordan has enjoyed his new playmat from Grandma Dillon and Great Aunt Jan. Thank you for the fun toy!

SpRiNg FeVeR

Jordan has been growing very quickly. He is starting to smile and "talk" more. We are looking forward to seeing a lot of our family this weekend for Jordan's baptism. Spring is also in full bloom here. Mark has been coaching baseball and the weather has been fantastic.

Yea for family!

So we have really enjoyed having Sandy and Andy 10 minutes away. That means when Mark has to stay at school, Sandy can come over and play with Jordan and Shawna can clean a little. We also enjoy having them over anytime. We made homemade pizza last night and played you don't know Jack with them. I also had a complaint! Dad seems to think that he and Jordan both look mad in the last post. Well, I also have a few pictures where they don't look quite so upset! Jordan is also starting to make more and more faces and starting to "talk" a little more. He is growing so fast! I'm sorry the one picture is sideways, I couldn't get it to load correctly and since Jordan is waking up, it stays that way! :-)

Easter Fun

Well Jordan's first Easter was fun. We helped Sandy and Andy move into their new house. They are now 10 minutes away which is nice! Jordan enjoyed some fun toys for Easter from Grandma and Grandpa. Jordan is also doing very well with people wanting to hold him. Aunt Vicki and Uncle Kelly stopped by to see Jordan for the first time. Jordan went to the Doctor last week and was up to 9 pounds but had only grown a quarter of an inch. He is healthy and doing well.
